Almost without exception , large ocean going power catamarans are displacement or semi displacement hull designs. Consequently they lack in high speed capacity . Those designs that do seek high speed find they need very large power plants and associated build weight. which compromises their efficiency.

By using a light and efficient outboard power plant and super light construction techniques the Glass Tiger can achieve enviable speed without compromising fuel efficiency.

With a cruising speed of 20 knots the flybridge version Glass Tiger runs at a highly efficient combined 2.5 litres per nautical mile. At its optimum speed of 17 Knots it consumes 66 LPH and 2.02 litres per NM The sedan is of course significantly more efficient. When its time to open her up and reach those fishing grounds fast or beat the seas home, a wide open throttle will deliver over 30 knots.

The Glass Tiger can also convert to a luxury ski boat with an acceleration of 0 – 20 knots in just 12 seconds and comes onto the plane in a comfortable 12 knots.
