Sales

Chris Higham has grown up on the water sailing competitively since the age of 7 when he joined South of Perth Yacht Club with his first Pelican and he still races weekly in his Tasker 34 that has been in the family since 1978. Chris built his first surfboard at the age of 10 and has held a fascination with design and manufacture ever since. He bought his first offshore power boat in 1999 and discovered the Given Power Cat in 2003. The combination of performance efficiency and design innovation drove Chris to establish Given Power Catamarans in 2003 as the Australian agent for the Given range and in 2008 he teamed up with Seafest to commence manufacturing the T11 in the world renowned Henderson region in Perth Western Australia. Chris brings extensive marine and business experience to Given Power Catamarans as its CEO.

Design

Ron Given has been designing world class sail and power catamarans since 1960. In 1966, Ron launched his first "Paper Tiger" sail catamaran that has gone onto world class fame with over 6000 boats constructed. In 1987, Ron designed his first power catamaran and in 1991, he released his first outboard powered cruising power catamaran.

In 2000 he presented his world class T11 with twin four stroke 225hp outboards built of composite fiberglass and marine ply using the West Epoxy System.

In 2008 the T11 has been re-engineered for fully moulded production using controlled vacuum infusion technology, vynal ester resins and carbon fibre reinforcing. Along the way outboard powered plants have evolved and now offer up to 350hp adding even more torque and efficiency to the design.

Throughout Ron's sailing and designing career he has maintained an enviable record of both safety and efficiency. To quote Ron:

"The level of safety inherent to specific catamaran design is directly related to the architect, and those with personal extensive coastal and offshore experience are obviously going to draw a safer boat."

The combination of highly efficient outboard power with super light and strong vacuum infusion construction technology has married efficiency to safety and has delivered an unparalleled level of accommodation and ride comfort with the legendary ocean going safety that only a catamaran can boast.
